Delete Your Account
Last Updated: May 2026
You can permanently delete your RollCall account and the personal data associated with it. This page explains how, what gets deleted, and what is retained for legal reasons.
How to delete your account
Option 1 — In-app (recommended)
- Open the RollCall app on iOS or Android.
- Go to Profile → Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account.
- Confirm. Your account is deleted immediately.
If you want a copy of your data first, use Settings → Danger Zone → Export My Data before deleting. The export is emailed to you as JSON, CSV, or HTML.
Option 2 — By email
If you can't access the app (uninstalled it, lost device access, etc.), email:
with the subject "Account Deletion Request" and either your account email or your username. We verify the request through the email address on file and delete the account within 30 days, in line with GDPR Article 17 (Right to Erasure).
What is deleted
- Your profile (display name, avatar, bio, game preferences, city, location coordinates)
- Your privacy settings, blocked-users list, follows, saved searches
- Your push notification token
- Your direct messages — they are removed from your account and from your conversation partners' chat history
- Your group invitations, your ratings of other hosts
- Sessions you host and groups you own enter a 3-day read-only window so other participants/members can read history and coordinate replacements; after that window they are permanently deleted
What is retained, and why
- Your username is reserved against reuse so that other people cannot impersonate you. The username string remains in our database but is no longer linked to a person.
- Messages and posts you sent to others remain visible to the recipients, with your display name replaced by "Deleted user". Removing these would alter someone else's chat history, which we treat as their content too.
- Ratings and comments you posted on past sessions remain attributed to "Deleted user" so session history stays intact for other participants.
- Moderation records (reports, statements of reasons, appeals) are kept permanently as required by Article 17 of the EU Digital Services Act. Personal identifiers are replaced with a snapshot of your email and username at the time of the action; the underlying user record is hard-deleted.
- Admin audit logs referencing the deletion event are kept for security and compliance.
Pro subscriptions
Deleting your account does not cancel an active RollCall Pro subscription. You must cancel it through:
- iOS: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → RollCall Pro
- Android: Play Store → Subscriptions → RollCall Pro
If you delete your account without cancelling first, the subscription keeps billing your store account until you cancel.
Timing
- In-app deletion is processed immediately.
- Email requests are processed within 30 days of identity verification, in line with GDPR Article 12(3).
- Confirmation is sent to your email address.
